Convert from PDF

Every PDF tool on FlexiConvert in one place, sorted by what you want to do. First come the tools that work on the PDF itself: edit it, sign it, merge it, split it, compress it or rotate it. Below them is the PDF converter in both directions: other files into PDF, and PDFs into a Word document, an Excel sheet or images. All of them are free, with no sign-up and no watermarks.

What happens to your files

The tools work in one of two ways:

  • Edit PDF and Sign PDF run inside your browser: the document never leaves your device. That makes them the right choice for contracts, payslips or anything with personal data.
  • All the other tools process the file on our server and delete it as soon as you download the result, or one hour later at most if you never do.

Either way, you don’t need an account or any software, and they work the same on a phone as on a computer.

What we can’t do

  • Open protected PDFs: neither those that ask for a password nor those that block editing or copying, which is common with bank statements. If the document is yours, save an unprotected copy from your PDF reader first.
  • Recognize the text in a scan (OCR): in a PDF made from photos, every page is an image, so its text can’t be copied or searched, and it won’t come out as editable text in Word or Excel.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between editing a PDF and converting it to Word?

Edit PDF makes small changes to the document itself, which stays a PDF with its layout intact. Converting it to Word turns it into a DOCX you can rewrite completely, although the layout may shift a little. To fix a date or fill in a field, editing it is enough.

Can I use several tools one after another on the same PDF?

Yes. Download the result of one and upload it to the next: for example, merge several PDFs, rotate the pages that were scanned upside down and, last of all, compress the document so it can be emailed.

Which PDF tools don’t upload my document to a server?

Edit PDF and Sign PDF do all the work in your browser, so the document never leaves your device. The others do upload it, because it’s processed on our server, and they delete it as soon as you download the result.

Why can’t I edit the text of a scanned PDF?

Because when a paper is scanned or photographed, each page of the PDF is an image, not text. You can add text on top with Edit PDF or sign it, but changing the original words would take text recognition (OCR), which we don’t offer.

Do I have to pay or sign up to use the PDF tools?

No. Every PDF tool on FlexiConvert is free, asks for no account or email address and adds no watermark to your documents.
