Merge images
Combine several photos or screenshots into a single image.
Merge several JPG, PNG or WebP images into one: screenshots of a conversation, before-and-after photos or a simple collage to share. You choose the order, the layout and the spacing, and download a single image, with no sign-up and no watermarks.
How to merge images
- Select the images you want to merge (from 2 to 20).
- Put them in order with the arrows in the list: they are merged in that order.
- Choose the layout (vertical, horizontal or grid), the spacing and the background colour.
- Click “Merge images” and download the result.
Three ways to combine your images
| Layout | How they’re arranged | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Vertical | One below another, all the same width | Screenshots of a chat or a long web page |
| Horizontal | Side by side, all the same height | A before and after, or comparing two photos |
| Grid | In rows and columns (4 images: 2 × 2) | A simple collage of several photos |
To fit them together without gaps, we match every image to the smallest one: when vertical, to the width of the narrowest; when horizontal, to the height of the shortest. We never enlarge an image, as it would look blurry. In the grid, each photo fits whole in its cell, which takes the shape of the first image; if one has a different shape, it’s centred with background around it.
Spacing and background
You can keep the images touching or separate them with a 10 or 30 pixel strip in the colour of your choice. The background also fills the gaps in the grid when the photos aren’t the same shape.
If you tick transparent background, the spacing and the gaps stay transparent, just like the transparent areas of your PNGs. Transparency is only kept if the result is a PNG or WebP.
Which format you download
The result comes out in the format of the first image in the list: if you start with a PNG, you get a PNG. To change it, just put an image in the format you prefer first. Phone photos are placed already straightened, and we remove the metadata, including the GPS location.
Looking to combine images into a PDF?
If you need a document with one image per page, for example to send several photos for a form, use JPG to PDF or PNG to PDF. And if the merged image is too heavy, compress it or resize it.
Limitations
- From 2 to 20 images, 20 MB per image, 100 MB in total and 50 megapixels per image.
- The result is at most 40 megapixels: if the merged image would be larger, we scale it down as a whole until it fits.
- Animated images (WebP) are merged using their first frame.
Frequently asked questions
How do I combine two photos into one?
Select both photos, choose “Horizontal” to put them side by side or “Vertical” to put one below the other, and click “Merge images”. You’ll download a single image with both.
Can I change the order of the images?
Yes. After choosing them, use the arrows next to each image in the list to move it up or down. They are merged exactly in the order of the list.
Why does one of my images come out smaller?
To fit together, all images are matched to the smallest one: the same width when vertical and the same height when horizontal. If you need more resolution, merge images of a similar size.
Can I merge PNGs with a transparent background?
Yes. Tick “Transparent background” and put a PNG first: the result will be a PNG that keeps the transparency of your images and of the spacing.
Can I merge JPG, PNG and WebP images together?
Yes, you can mix them. The result comes out in the format of the first image in the list.
